Evidence of Intoxication
Law enforcement officers apply different methods to determine impairment or intoxication. Measures of a person’s urine, blood, and breath may be used to check a driver’s BAC. It is worth noting that besides your BAC, there are other grounds that allow a police officer to accuse you of a DWI. An officer can charge you of a DWI based on probable cause showing that you are drunk. Some of the observations an officer can use to deduce whether you are intoxicated include observing your behavior and appearance, the odor or presence of alcohol, and evaluating your performance on various field sobriety tests.
